Awakening

What does that even mean? Awakening seems to be a hot topic lately and there is a reason for that. At its root, awakening is used to describe the moment you “wake up” to an awareness that is much bigger than you previously could have imagined. So, while there is more awakening happening at this time than ever before in our lifetime, it’s not new and… surprise, surprise, it’s not ending any time soon. As long as you’re playing this game called life, your experiences will push you to awaken more fully.

Gentle Awakenings

I’ve said before that I never really felt like I had an “ah ha” awakening moment. I’ve always been a seeker of new knowledge, so I’ve had a lifetime of gentle awakenings as each new piece of information stretched what I already believed to be true and seamlessly integrated into my understanding of what is true over time.

Awakening Assault

Right now, we’re living through a barrage of experiences, each more shocking then the last, providing endless opportunities for folks to wake up. And while the pace right now may feel like an assault, it is divinely orchestrated to wake people up quickly. It’s like as a collective we have been hitting the snooze over and over again and this is the alarm that’s going to finally jolt us out of bed.

If you’re struggling to find your footing with our ever-shifting, so-called reality, you’re not alone. Awakenings will rock the foundation of what you believe to be true and the amount of resistance you have to accepting the information you’re waking up to, will greatly impact how quickly you’re able to integrate these new understandings into your experience.

Awaken to your own knowing

Since I’ve been at this for decades, little has surprised to me lately. Deeply disturbed and disheartened, but not surprised. Somewhere along my healing journey since 2018, I had the realization that I could clearly see the motivations behind people’s words and actions. Over time, this has helped me to identify my own patterns that are no longer serving me and I’ve come to realize I can easily discern truth from lies as well.

The age of “I have to see it to believe it” is coming to an end. When you truly wake up to your own innate knowing and learn to listen to your own internal guidance system, you can no longer be manipulated or deceived. This is an awakening to “I have to believe it to see it.” Your internal truth is ultimately reflected in your external experiences.

Awakening Advice

If you’ve gotten this far with me, you’re probably interested in making your awakening process as painless as possible. My best advice to you is to consider that a belief is only a story you’ve continually told yourself. If you can step back from the shock of what has shaken your beliefs, consider…

Where did this belief come from?

Did someone I trust instill this belief in me?

Was this belief something I learned from society?

Then take another step back and ask yourself if you really believe it to be true and this is where your innate knowing and discernment kick in. Don’t think about your answer, feel it in your body. For me, things that are not true and not good for me feel like a contraction, shrinking, or heaviness in my body. On the other hand, truth and what is good for me feels like and expansion, tingles, excitement, or even full body chills.

Your Internal Guidance System

Everyone is different and it takes some time tuning into your body to learn what your unique signals are, but the more quickly you can learn your own internal guidance system, the easier it will be to navigate the external storm.

This is such a difficult time, but through it all I feel that everything it’s going to be okay and a divine plan is unfolding. This feels like peace and calm in my body. And for the promise of birthing a new way out of this chaos, I feel warmth and expansion in my heart center.

Overall, I can’t stress enough that your job is to learn to listen to your own internal guidance. My goal is to light the way for others who are on this path, but my experiences are my own and only an example. There is no right way, but I hope my process will shed a little light on your own path.
